Fairs were held in relation to the coming back of livestock, after having spent the summer in the mountains. Fairs meant the perfect occasion to buy and sell animals, but also to have al the necessary supplies for the winter ahead. Those fairs that were usually celebrated in the autumn, only the ones in Llessui, Tírvia, Esterri d'Àneu or Sort are still organised today. In Esterri, the fair known as Fira de Santa Teresa, is held at the beginning of October, and in Sort, known as Autumn Fair, at the beginning of November. In the present, they sell crafts, artisan products, cars, household objects ... more than livestock.
