The amazing phenomenon of extreme sports started in Catalonia precisely here, in El Pallars Sobirà. In the river Noguera Pallaresa kayaks had been paddling from the early sixties, but it was not until 1986 that we could see another kind of boat: the raft, brought here by some French people. The first company that offered descents down the river was called Aventur. There are a lot more of companies nowadays and the offer of extreme sports is never-ending: hydrospeed, archery, ravine descents, bungee jumping, horse riding, two people paragliding, quads, bus bob...
